The Story
In Fossil Girl, we meet a lonely geologist, who sets out to save the world with her new friends.
Fossil Girl is a science fantasy adventure about aliens and humans who embark on a perilous mission to prevent a catastrophic war triggered by the consequences of climate change. To achieve their goal, the main characters must solve mysteries, overcome political power struggles, and deal with personal conflicts. The story explores what social connection, empathy, and power mean for the human spirit and its ability to triumph over its own destructive impulses.
The main character in Fossil Girl is Cordelia Hansen, a Danish geologist living in Los Angeles, where she researches and teaches at the fictional Nenortic University. Cordelia is very lonely and has had difficulty connecting with other people since her father committed suicide when she was a little girl.
Cordelia becomes part of a group of scientists who are assigned to investigate the Kilauea volcano in Hawaii after the crater suddenly collapses. She and the rest of the group quickly discover that something mysterious is afoot. Suddenly, they can see some creatures that others cannot. It turns out that the ancestors of these creatures came to the planet 300 years ago, and they have been living hidden in various places on Earth since then. They are able to control the movement of the atoms in their bodies to such an extent that the human eye cannot see them.
Since they came to the planet, their population has grown, and they have spread out across the planet in places where there are resources that they need to survive. They landed in 1720 in what has since been called the Patomskiy Crater in Russia. They then spread to Malyshevo Mountain in Russia, the Zanskar Range in India, the Mogok Stone Tract in Myanmar, Lightning Ridge in Australia, Merelani in Tanzania, Batalha in Brazil, the Bearpaw Formation in Canada, and Kazumura Cave in Hawaii. Here, the different tribes grew larger and more diverse from each other over time. By the beginning of the comic, the differences between the tribes have grown so great that they are now on the brink of a global war. They are fighting over ideology, trade and access to resources, and all of this is intensified by climate change. It is this war that the main character and her new friends must try to prevent.
Characters
These are the eight main characters in Fossil Girl

Cordelia Hansen
Cordelia grew up in Denmark at Stevns Klint, which provided the answer to the question of how the dinosaurs became extinct. As a child, Cordelia spent most of her time digging for rocks and fossils, and she often observed the many scientists who came from all over the world to study the cliff. She was very lonely, as her parents often argued. She loved it when her military father took the time to teach her how to shoot and build bombs.
Ianda
Ianda, an alien born on Earth, is part of the Jurnin tribe, who live in Kazumura Cave in Hawaii. Ianda studies human culture and art, with a particular interest in Renaissance paintings and existential literature. She believes that the members of her tribe need to focus more on art in order to progress and counteract conservative attitudes among the other tribes.

Robert, who was born in Zimbabwe, spent most of his childhood at a boarding school in England. He later traveled to the United States to study volcanology at Stanford University, where he met his wife Becky. As a child, Robert, or Bobby, dreamed of studying cosmology to find a way to prove gravity, but he always spent more time playing football than doing his math homework. He chose volcanology instead, hoping that it might also provide an explanation.
Robert Bobby
Rebecca Bobby
Becky, who has an IQ of 160, moved around a lot as a child due to her father's work and speaks several languages. When her sister was still alive, the two often went mountain climbing together. She loves being on top of the world's mountains, but she also has a great fascination with the Earth's core, which is why she decided to study volcanology.
Jomeya, another Earth-born alien from the Jurnin tribe, is a treasure hunter with a great love for cats, 90s TV shows, conspiracy theories, and all things human. Jomeya's parents both died when he was little, and Ianda's parents have been taking care of him ever since.
Trebiltyge
Jomeya
Trebiltyge, an Earth-born alien from the Jurnin tribe, has always wanted to be a farmer, but as he is one of the fastest members of the tribe, he was destined to act as a scout for the tribe's survival. He feels a special connection to the land and finds great joy in growing plants in his own small garden.
Marien, the daughter of two immigrants from Iran, was born in Hawaii, where she has lived and studied her entire life. When Marien, who has received many academic honors and awards as a chemist, is not working in her lab, she is diving underwater in one of Hawaii's many beautiful areas.
Marien Jandani
Raymond Stroe
Originally from Austria, Ray came to Stanford to study the San Andreas Fault, which is where the Pacific Plate and the American Continental Plate meet and cause earthquakes. His big dream is to work for the Earthquake Research Institute in Japan. He has a keen interest in Japan, earthquakes, and anything that shakes, including his Nintendo Switch controller. He is a huge Nintendo fan and his favorite video game is Disaster Report 4.

Alien Tribes
Find out who the different tribes in Fossil Girl are

The Jurnin Tribe
The Jurnin tribe has resided in the Kazumura cave system in Hawaii since 1851. The tribe is shunned by most of the other tribes and only trades with one other tribe, the Menanda Tribe. The Jurnin Tribe has lived isolated from the other tribes since its founding members left the rest of the original group that came to earth. It Is said that the founders stole a part of the alien technology that makes it possible for aliens to travel through space, which is part of why the Jurnin tribe has been shunned.

The Menanda Tribe
The Menanda Tribe resides in the Bear Paw Formation in Canada where they harvest ammonite and ammolite that reduces stress for these aliens. The tribe struggles with addiction issues, as many of its members overuse the ammolite.

The Mogok Tribe
Mogok stone tract, myanmar
The Mogok Tribe is the largest alien settlement on the planet. The Mogul Stone Tract has provided the tribe with an abundance of several minerals and gemstones. It has attracted large numbers of migrants from the other tribes over the years. It was the Mogul tribe that introduced trade amongst the tribes instead of simply sharing as was the custom in the beginning, when the tribes settled in different locations.

The Zanskar Tribe
Zanskar Range, India
The Zanskar Tribe settled in the Zanskar Range in 1840. Here, the aliens found Kashmir sapphires, which the aliens use to enhance neuroplasticity. The Zanskar Tribe manages most trade between the Mogok tribe and the two tribes in Russia, making the tribe an important player. The harsh and cold climate has made the Zanskars resilient, and they are amongst the strongest and most violent of the alien tribes.

The Lightning Ridge Tribe
Lightning Ridge, Australia
The Lightning Ridge was discovered by the aliens in 1900. Here, the aliens found opals, which is something the aliens' animals thrive on. The Lightning Ridge tribe, therefore, is important for the rest of the tribes' sustenance.

The Brazil Tribe
Batalha Mine, Paraiba, Brazil
A group of aliens left Hawaii in 1852 after conflicts in Hawaii. They went south and settled in Paraiba where they found an abundance of minerals and gemstones. The area was later found by humans, but the aliens have managed to maintain a large area, making it possible for the new tribe to grow and prosper. Today, it is one of the largest and more resourceful tribe together with the Mogok tribe.

The Merelani Tribe
Merelani mine, tanzania
In the late 19th century, a group of aliens left Zanskar Range and travelled to Africa. They found the world's only source of tanzanite in the Merelani Mine in Tanzania. Tanzanite has a high vibration rate, improving the aliens' ability to control their atoms. This makes it it easier for them to hide from the sight of humans. The Merelani tribe is known to be the most peaceful, but recent climate change has turned its members more erratic.

The Garundiye Tribe
Malyshevo mountain, Malysheva mine, Russia
The Garundiye (meaning 'second' in original alien language) tribe was the second settlement to be established after the aliens came to earth. The tribe still lives in an around the Malysheva mine even though the mine ran dry many years ago. The aliens here still attempt to live on the emeralds they found in the mine before it was exhausted. They live in poverty and great debt, and they are the tribe most affected by climate change.
The Scarundiye Tribe
Patomskiy Crater, Russia
The Scarundiye (meaning 'first' in original alien language) tribe lives under what has been called the Patomskiy Crater by humans. The crater was made by the aliens' ship when they landed on Earth in 1720, something humans have not been able to figure out. The tribe lives in a very conservative manner with a strong sense of pride regarding the aliens' origin.
